Arnside Knott is a National Trust park Covered with Limestone grassland and mixed woodland and If you enjoy a good walk with magnificent views and the chance to spot some wildlife, then Arnside Knott will be a perfect place for you to visit.
From the top of the Knott you can see across the peaks of the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales, down into Lancashire and right out over the sands of Morecambe Bay. Sit and enjoy the view with a picnic.
This is the perfect walk with your four legged friend as you can carry on along the many different paths which take you down to Red Hills Wood or Heathwaite.
Arnside Knott is open access so you have the chance to find a little piece of quiet just for yourself whether you're walking, running or sitting. Soak in the sounds of nature and the sights of the Lake District and enjoy the atmosphere around you.
To get to Arnside Knott car park from Silverdale Road (LA5 0AL) turn right (southeast bound) into Red Hills Road and continue for 0.6 miles. Keep left to continue onto Knott Lane for 0.2 miles. Continue onto Saul’s Drive for 0.3 miles up the track and through the cattle grid. The car park is situated at the very end of the track (LA5 0BP), grid reference SD 450774. This is unmarked and at capacity can hold approximately 15 to 20 cars. For café’s shops and a toilet head to Arnside Village about a 15 to 20-minute walk from the Knott.
