Holker Hall is situated 2.5 miles (a 9-minute drive) from Haven Lakeland.
A little bit of history - The earliest date on record of a house being on the current site is the beginning of the 16th century.
The house has never been sold, it has been passed down through inheritance between three families The Preston’s, The Lowther’s and The Cavendishes, each generation has left their own impression on the house. Holker Hall allows you to visit the many rooms in the house from the Library, Dining room to the Billiard room and the many bedrooms in the house.
The house is situated on 23 acres of immaculate gardens, which you can walk around, the garden features many different trees, shrubs and flowers. Most of the gardens were developed by Lord and Lady Cavendish over a 40-year period, they have a love for exotic plants! The gardens have won many awards over the years.
After a few hours looking around the house and gardens, why not visit the Courtyard Café serving delicious food with local, seasonal ingredients. Choose from Afternoon teas, the wood fired pizzas and artisan burgers to list a few. Alcohol is also served here.
Holker hall has a gift shop selling Holker keepsakes to homeware and plants! Great to take home with you or for gifts.
On visiting be sure to check Holker Hall`s website for the latest events they have on.
This attraction would suit anyone interested in history and heritage, although you can just visit Holker Hall for a bite to eat or a drink in the courtyard!
